Aerothermal energy, a new sustainable energy system

Aerothermal energy: A new, efficient and sustainable energy system

Por Alejandro Castillo

Today we’d like to tell you about one of the most cost-effective sustainable heating and cooling systems: ground-source heat pumps.

As well as being a cost-effective system, aerothermal heating is good for the environment, as it uses sustainable energy (with zero CO₂ emissions); it reduces your carbon footprint and provides your home with 4 kWh of energy for every kWh it consumes.

With this system, you can have heating, cooling and hot water all in one system, and it is four times more efficient than a gas boiler.

It is suitable for both detached houses and buildings, and the equipment has a lifespan of around 25 years.

The only drawback at present is the high initial investment required for installation, but you can now enjoy the benefits of having one installed at no extra cost. ‘How?’ you may be wondering. Read on and we’ll tell you more.

Where does the energy in an air-source heat pump come from?

Aerothermal energy is based on thermodynamics: the heat pump’s fan draws in outside air and feeds it into the refrigerant circuit.

The air transfers its heat to the refrigerant, which evaporates. The resulting gas circulates through the compressor, which increases the pressure and, consequently, the temperature.

This hot gas transfers its energy by heating the home’s heating circuit. This heat is also used to heat water and can be utilised for underfloor heating.

When the water cools down, it returns through the circuit, cooling the refrigerant and causing the gas in the circuit to return to its liquid state. Once cool, the refrigerant returns to the start of the circuit to draw heat from the ambient environment once more.

This process is used for heating and hot water; if, on the other hand, we are looking for cooling, the process is the same but in reverse, extracting heat from the rooms and releasing it into the outside air.

How can you benefit from aerothermal energy at no extra cost?

You can now enjoy hot water supplied by aerothermal energy in the buildings at Ciudad Jardín 3 and 4; and in the apartments at Sol y Mar 2, at Oropesa del Mar / Cabanes.

Inseryal Marina d’Or, with over 40 years’ experience in the construction sector, has decided to embrace this clean, renewable and cost-effective energy source.

Our aerothermal systems are just like any other household appliance, requiring virtually no maintenance.

Each unit is private and accessible only from within your own home. This allows you to unplug the units and avoid energy consumption when you are not at home.

Air-source heat pump units have a capacity of 150 litres of water, compared to the 90 litres of a conventional electric water heater, and they provide a longer supply of hot water.

As you can see, there are nothing but advantages to using and enjoying this clean, renewable energy.

If you’re looking for a beachfront apartment (Ciudad Jardín apartments) or one just 379 metres from the beach (Sol y Mar apartments) – one that’s also attractive, well-located and powered by clean, environmentally friendly energy – this is your chance.

What’s more, at Ciudad Jardín, you’ll find your apartment fully furnished, decorated and equipped; something you can also enjoy at Sol y Mar with the ‘Memoria de Calidades Plus’ specification.
