We wanted to dedicate a special article to a number of people who were born in different parts of the province of Castellón and have made a name for themselves around the world in their respective professions.
Roberto Bautista
Roberto Bautista Agut is a Spanish professional tennis player born on 14 April 1988 in Benlloch, Castellón. With 11 ATP titles and a Davis Cup victory in 2019, he has been a leading figure in Spanish tennis, reaching a career-high world ranking of number 9 on 4 November 2019.
Patricia Campos
Patricia Campos Doménech, born on 12 March 1977 in Onda, Castellón, is a leading figure in several fields. Now aged 47, she is known as a pilot, football coach, aid worker and women’s rights activist.
Dolores Font Cortés
Dolores Font Cortés is a leading Spanish designer and businesswoman in the fashion world, particularly well known for her swimwear designs. Born in the 1950s in Villarreal, Castellón, she is the daughter of Dolores Cortés Goterris, the founder of the swimwear brand that bears her name.
Miguel Ángel Silvestre
Miguel Ángel Silvestre is a Spanish actor born on 6 April 1982 in Castellón de la Plana. Initially, his passion was tennis, and he aspired to become a professional player, but an injury sustained during a tournament in Hungary put an end to that dream.
Pau Torres
Pau Francisco Torres is a Spanish footballer born on 16 January 1997 in Villarreal, Castellón. A 27-year-old centre-back, he currently plays for Aston Villa in the Premier League.
Sergio García Fernández
Sergio García Fernández is a Spanish professional golfer born on 9 January 1980 in Borriol, Castellón. Nicknamed ‘El Niño’, he began playing golf at the age of three under the guidance of his father, Víctor García, who was a golf instructor.
