Castellón Airport (CDT), also known as Costa Azahar, will connect in 2026 with key cities such as London, Manchester, Brussels, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Milan, Bologna, Porto, Kraków, Budapest, Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.

There are also domestic flights to Madrid all year round and, in summer, to Bilbao, Asturias and Palma de Mallorca.

Last updated: August 2026. Several routes are seasonal and may vary depending on the time of year. Check the timetables when booking your flight.

How do you get to Castellón Airport?

It’s not complicated. Getting to the airport is easy and well signposted, whether you’re coming via the motorway, dual carriageway or A-road.

Everything’s been thought of so you can arrive without wasting time… or losing your cool.

Services that really make a difference

Castellón Airport may not be the biggest, but it has what matters:

  • Car park right next to the terminal: 500 spaces right in front of the entrance. From late 2025, there will be a charge, with the first half hour free and reasonable rates; you can pay on exit or via the app elParking. Check the current prices on the airport’s website.
  • Free Wi-Fi, a café and quiet areas where you can wait without the usual background noise.
  • Personalised assistance (for passengers with reduced mobility): if you need assistance due to reduced mobility, you can request it before your flight. No one is left behind here.
  • Information points are always clearly visible. No need to wander around looking for someone to ask.

Are you flying from Castellón Airport? Here are some useful tips

  • From the UK, Belgium, Germany, Italy or Portugal: make the most of direct flights to London (STN), Manchester (MAN), Brussels (CRL), Berlin (BER), Düsseldorf (NRN), Milan (BGY), Bologna (BLQ) and Porto (OPO). If you book a little in advance, you can get good prices. Bear in mind that flights are usually full at weekends.
  • From Eastern Europe: Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca have flights all year round with Wizz Air; Budapest and Kraków have flights in the summer with Ryanair.
  • For long-haul flights: the easiest option is to stop over in Madrid with Iberia or Air Nostrum.
  • Price or flexibility? Low-cost airlines are the better option if you’re travelling with hand luggage only. Iberia and Air Nostrum offer more flexibility if you need to change your dates or connect with other flights.
  • Luggage: check the dimensions and weight limits carefully before paying. A rucksack isn’t the same as a trolley bag. It’s best to avoid any surprises at the boarding gate.
  • Punctuality: early-morning flights are usually the most reliable. Fewer delays, less stress.
  • If you’re travelling with your family: this airport is a real pleasure. Smooth and stress-free. You’ll be inside and sorted in under 10 minutes.
  • Peak season: book 3 to 6 weeks in advance. In summer there are more flights… and higher demand.
  • When you land: make sure you know how to get around. The car park is right opposite the terminal (chargeable from late 2025, with the first half hour free) and, if you’re not coming by car, there are taxis, buses and car hire right on the doorstep.

Services at Castellón Airport: just what you need (but done well)

An airport doesn’t have to be huge to work properly.
Castellón Airport is small, yes. But it has everything you need to ensure your journey gets off to a stress-free start.

What can you find in the terminal?

  • A café where you can enjoy a quiet drink whilst you wait
  • Spacious, quiet areas, without the hustle and bustle of large crowds
  • Clean and accessible toilets, even during the busiest months
  • Information desks always in plain sight. Ask a question, and they’ll answer. It’s that simple.

The atmosphere is relaxed. Here, no one’s breathing down your neck or rushing you.
Ideal if you’re travelling with children or older people, or if you simply prefer to go at your own pace.

Extra services so you don’t waste time

  • Free Wi-Fi and mobile charging points
  • Car hire, taxis and buses right outside the exit
  • Assistance for people with reduced mobility if requested in advance

The best bit: security checks are quick, there are no endless queues, and everything is designed so you don’t waste energy before your flight.

More and more people are choosing Castellón Airport for one very simple reason: it works.

Because when you value peace of mind, easy access and avoiding the chaos… you’ll appreciate it.

You arrive, you fly… and you enjoy yourself.
No fuss. No stress. No wasting time.

The nearest airport to Oropesa del Mar

This one. Castellón-Costa Azahar Airport, which every flight search engine lists under the code CDT and aeronautical paperwork calls LECH, is a 20 to 25 minute drive from the beaches of Oropesa del Mar. There is nothing closer.

In practice that means you land, pick up your case, walk to the car and open your own front door within half an hour. No connections, no onward trains and no three hour motorway run at the end of a two hour flight.

  • Castellón-Costa Azahar (CDT): 20 to 25 minutes, straight out onto the CV-13. The closest airport to Oropesa del Mar.
  • Valencia (VLC): about an hour by motorway. Many more routes and daily frequencies, in exchange for a long hour in the car each way.

If you are looking at apartments in Oropesa del Mar, this is the figure you will quote most often when people ask how they get to your place.

Castellón Airport arrivals and departures: where to actually check them

Let us save you a detour. The airport publishes its routes and their timetables, but its arrivals and departures page is password protected, checked in September 2026, so there is no public board showing the day's flights.

What does work:

  • For the status of one particular flight: your airline's own site or app. Ryanair, Wizz Air, Volotea or Iberia, depending on the route.
  • For what flies and on which days: the route table on the official site, which separates year round routes from seasonal ones.
  • So you do not turn up for nothing: the terminal is open continuously from 6:00 to 22:00. Outside those hours it is closed.

One detail that saves surprises in winter: of the 16 routes, only five fly all year round, namely Madrid, London, Brussels, Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca. The other eleven are summer season routes, so January at the terminal looks nothing like August.

Castellón or Valencia airport: which one should you fly into?

It is the question people from abroad ask most, and the honest answer hangs on one thing: whether your city is among the 16 routes Castellón serves.

  • If it is: Castellón, without hesitating. You save a long hour in the car each way, the terminal takes five minutes to cross and the car park sits opposite the door.
  • If it is not: Valencia. Far more choice and daily frequencies, and it is a little over an hour from Oropesa del Mar.

If you plan to use both, one practical point about the airport bus: it only connects with Valencia on eleven of the routes, those to Brussels, Düsseldorf Weeze, Bucharest, Berlin, Milan, Budapest, Krakow, Porto, Cluj-Napoca, Manchester and Bologna. For the rest you need to check the Autos Mediterráneo timetables. The fare is 12 € to Castellón and 26 € to Valencia, sold online only.

Castellón Airport in numbers

For years people talked about this airport as though nobody ever flew from it. The 2026 figures say otherwise, and they are public:

  • 52,337 passengers in August 2026. Its best month ever and the first time it has passed 50,000 in a single month, 16.5 % up on the previous August.
  • 249,593 passengers from January to August, 12.6 % more than the same period in 2025.
  • 10,351 aircraft movements across those eight months, up 20 %. August alone accounted for 1,816.
  • More Balearics in 2027: the Palma de Mallorca route almost doubles, from 14 to 26 frequencies, and a new Ibiza route starts for four weeks in August. Both with Air Nostrum.

For anyone buying here, that curve is the real headline: the airport twenty minutes from your door grows every year, and with it the list of cities your family can reach you from in a couple of hours.

Figures from Aerocas, the company that runs the airport, published on 7 September 2026.
